Not every organisation still wants to invest in its own email servers, local file systems or complex collaboration platforms.

Microsoft 365 combines business email, document management, collaboration, communication, security and productivity within one cloud platform. This allows employees to collaborate securely, share files and access business information from virtually any location.

With Microsoft 365, B/Focused supports organisations with implementation, management, security, licence management and strategic choices around the modern digital workplace.

What does B/Focused add to your Microsoft 365 environment?

Smart licence management

Not every employee needs the same functionality. That is why we analyse the actual use of Microsoft 365 and advise which licences are actually needed.

By aligning licences with functions, usage and growth plans, organisations can often save money without losing functionality.

The 80/20 principle

For many organisations, a combination of annual licences and monthly cancellable licences is the most efficient solution.

That is why we often advise a flexible licensing model in which a stable base is combined with a smaller number of flexible licences for growth, temporary staff or projects.

Independent back-up strategy

Microsoft provides a highly available platform, but responsibility for data protection remains with the organisation itself.

That is why we advise on and manage back-up solutions outside Microsoft 365, so that emails, documents, Teams data and SharePoint environments can also be restored independently of Microsoft.

Spreading risks

We are not always in favour of bringing all services together within one cloud platform.

By spreading security, back-up and monitoring across multiple platforms where needed, you gain more independence, flexibility and better control over risks.

Insight & Optimisation

Microsoft 365 continuously develops new functionality and possibilities.

Through periodic evaluations, reports and optimisations, we ensure that licences, security and productivity continue to align with the needs of your organisation.

Strategic Microsoft 365 advice

Microsoft 365 does not stand alone but forms part of your broader IT strategy.

We help organisations with choices around cloud use, security, licences, automation and future developments so that investments better align with business objectives.

Microsoft determines licence pricing

The licence prices for Microsoft 365 are set by Microsoft. When an organisation has the correct licences, it pays the same Microsoft licence price at B/Focused as it would with other Microsoft partners.

Our added value therefore does not lie in the licence price itself, but in advising on, managing and optimising the Microsoft 365 environment.

Annual licences versus flexible licences

Microsoft offers both annual licences and monthly cancellable licences.

Annual licences are generally more cost-effective and form the basis of many organisations’ Microsoft 365 environments. Monthly cancellable licences offer more flexibility for growth, temporary staff or project-based deployment.

Getting more out of Microsoft 365 without paying more

Many organisations have Microsoft 365 licences that do not optimally match actual usage.

By periodically reviewing licences, applying the 80/20 principle and using a combination of annual and flexible licences, organisations can often save money without losing functionality.

When Microsoft 365, internet connections, business telephony and additional IT services are managed by B/Focused, we also look at whether additional scale or bundling benefits are possible within your total IT environment.

Find out whether your licences, security, back-up strategy and cloud environment still match the needs of your organisation.

Frequently asked questions

Can you also advise on European cloud alternatives?

Yes. Besides Microsoft 365, we also advise organisations on private cloud and European cloud solutions when compliance, data protection, digital sovereignty or specific regulations play an important role.

Do I need to move all my IT services into Microsoft 365?

Not always. We are not automatically in favour of bringing all services together within one platform.

In some situations, it can be wise to deliberately keep back-up, security, monitoring or other components outside Microsoft 365 to spread risks and maintain more independence.

Is Microsoft 365 secure enough for my organisation?

Microsoft 365 includes extensive security features, but these are not always optimally configured.

We help organisations with, among other things, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, identity management and security policy to make risks more manageable.

Can you help reduce my Microsoft 365 licence costs?

Yes. By periodically evaluating licence use, organisations can often save money by better aligning licences with functions, usage and business objectives.

We look not only at costs, but also at security, compliance and future developments.

Why do I need a separate back-up if Microsoft stores my data?

Microsoft provides a highly available cloud platform, but responsibility for data protection remains with the organisation itself.

That is why we advise on and manage back-up solutions outside Microsoft 365, so that emails, documents, Teams data and SharePoint environments can be restored independently whenever needed.

Can you take over our existing Microsoft 365 environment?

Yes. We can manage, optimise and, where needed, improve existing Microsoft 365 environments without users having to interrupt their daily work.

During onboarding we assess, among other things, licences, security settings, user accounts and management processes.

What is the difference between annual licences and monthly cancellable licences?

Annual licences are generally more cost-effective than monthly cancellable licences. Monthly cancellable licences, on the other hand, offer more flexibility for growth, temporary staff or project-based deployment.

We often advise a combination of both based on the 80/20 principle, so organisations benefit from lower costs and sufficient flexibility.

Which Microsoft 365 licence do I need?

Not every employee needs the same functionality. That is why we assess which functions are actually used and which licences match them.

In many cases, a combination of different licence types can lead to lower costs without losing functionality.
